Dutch Apple Pie

Ingredients: – 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought) – 6 cups of peeled and sliced apples (such as Granny Smith) – 1/2 cup granulated sugar

– 1/4 cup all-purpose flour – 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon – 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg – 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the streusel topping: – 1/2 cup all-purpose flour – 1/2 cup packed brown sugar – 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

Instructions: 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). 2. Roll out the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Crimp the edges as desired.

1. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss until the apples are evenly coated. 2. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it out evenly.

1. In another bowl, prepare the streusel topping by mixing together the flour and brown sugar. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 2. Sprinkle the streusel topping over the apples in the pie crust.

Place the pie on a baking sheet (to catch any drips) and bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.

Allow the pie to cool before serving. Enjoy slices on their own or with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
